Our relationship with money is incredibly nuanced. There is a lot of history, environmental factors, lived experiences, systems, and people in our lives that contribute to the way we view, make, save, invest, spend, and redistribute money.

And that financial literacy should be a part of that human right.

The role of a financial literacy educator is to teach, inform, and encourage.

The goal is to provide you with all the information you need to make informed, confident, and empowering decisions around your financial wellbeing.

This is inclusive of budgeting, credit and debt management, student loans, investment education and retirement planning, FI/RE, and even having a general understanding of homeownership and real estate. We teach you that your financial dreams ARE possible and equip you with the education and tools to actualize them.

I'm Stella Gold (they/them) and I am on a mission to get QTBIPOC financially educated and liberated.

As a queer, nonbinary, first generation filipinx american, creating My Gold Standard empowered me to use my voice, live my truth, and embrace my own financial revolution.

The work I do is inclusive of strategies in reaching financial wellbeing, but it is also a deep reflection of your beliefs behind money. This is why I believe in having a humanized, trauma informed approach to your finances.

    I, half-jokingly, told Stella I wanted to both spend more money and save more money. They showed me that was possible and truly became my economic spirit guide. With Stella's patience, communication, financial knowledge, and constant support I was able to set realistic weekly budgets, learn to invest, plan short and long-term goals, set up a will, and arrange a cross-country move.

    When Stella and I started working together, I was just starting my sobriety journey. Over the last three years Stella has helped me adapt, understand my value and worth, and realize I actually can do it. I have learned to advocate for myself better due to our work. I trust myself more and I know that it is OKAY to want to live in financial abundance.

    One of my favorite lessons from Stella was to reflect on my favorite thing I spent money on each week. Doing so helped me learn what it feels like to spend money on things that are truly aligned and joyful to me. By familiarizing myself with that feeling, I learned what things I don’t want to waste money on. This has been such a unique and beautiful practice for me!

    Stella’s NEED WANT DREAM workshop opened the door to go deeper on the different aspects we covered: the wage and opportunity gaps and how that compounds within wealth gaps. Stella carried a serene environment throughout the presentation even while our team engaged with a difficult subject.

    The #1 thing I'll remember from Stella's salary negotiation workshop is their authenticity and shared passion for being disruptors to the traditional ways of thinking about finance. They gave a more nuanced and informed perspective on a topic that's heavily discussed yet never moves the needle for Black women. Stella's reframing of common ideologies in more forward and abundant thinking made such an impact within our community.

    Since working with Stella, our marriage is so much stronger. They guided my spouse and I to work through incredibly difficult conversations while also building skills and language to make it easier to talk about money in the future. We learned a lot about how money shame and scarcity mindset play a role in our marriage and in each other's own internal world. Since we now understand the patterns, we are both better able to prevent conflict and understand our own needs when it comes to money.
